What we did
In this outdoor renovation, we transformed an underused backyard into a space built specifically for entertaining — designed to move easily between quiet family evenings and full-scale gatherings. By combining a dedicated dining area, comfortable lounge space, and thoughtful lighting, we created a backyard that works as hard as its hosts do.

Key features
Outdoor Kitchen & Dining: A built-in cooking and dining setup makes hosting seamless from prep to cleanup.
Layered Lighting: String lights and fixtures extend the space well into the evening for every kind of gathering.
Flexible Lounge Zones: Comfortable seating areas adapt easily from small get-togethers to larger parties.
The vision
Our clients loved hosting but had always worked around a backyard that wasn't built for it — limited seating, no real cooking setup, and nowhere comfortable to gather after dark. They wanted a space that could host ten people or fifty without feeling like an afterthought. Above all, they wanted a backyard that finally matched how often they had people over.
The process
We began by mapping out clear zones for cooking, dining, and lounging, so guests could move naturally through the space instead of clustering in one spot. A built-in outdoor kitchen anchored the dining area, while layered lighting and comfortable, weather-ready furniture were added to keep the space inviting long after the sun went down. Every material was chosen to hold up to frequent use.
The outcome
The result is a backyard that's genuinely built for entertaining, not just decorated to look like it. The family now hosts more often and more easily, with a space that adapts to whatever the occasion calls for. It's become the reason friends and family keep coming back — and the space they never want to leave. Even a quiet weeknight out there feels like an occasion.
